D.I.Y. FANS!!

I am really into the idea of making fans. Rather than searching for pre-made we can try these simple steps. I found a 'kids craft' activity. How hard can it be?? How can we make them more fabulous?!?!

IDEA:

Basic Materials:

A piece of paper about 1m by 20cm.

Two wide popsicle sticks
glue
Sticky tape
Coloring pens (just one example)

Steps:

1-Decorate paper (Geisha inspired)

*butterflies

*blossom

*calligraphy

etc.

2-‘Pleat’ the paper into folds about 1 1/2cm wide.

Glue a popsicle stick onto each end of the paper. Sticks should stick out about 2cm above the top of the paper.

ONE more example......

It doesn't get any simpler than this!

FOLD paper and finish off with really nice string, rope, something we can tie into knot!!

  3. I searched for more fans yesterday, but they all look tacky! I am down to make some fans tonight (rainy day activity!). Seriously, how many should we need overall? And any colors in particular?
