fans

Hi everyone,

I found two different kinds of fans but I didn't buy them yet because I wanted to get your opinions and see if anyone had any luck finding some that are maybe less expensive in china town or japan town. .. I found one style that is the paper fan for 79 cents each but they are really wierd prints like random beach and sunset drawings so we would have to paint them, I also found some all wood ones with a design cut out for $2 each, I know it's not that expensive but if we want to use the idea of covering the whole wall with them it would be. Personally, the idea I like best is to paint paper fans to be solid colors and use them as the back drop- we can just pin them to the wall with flat push pins; and hang the kimono on a dowel like we talked about and then somehow incorporate the cherry blossoms? Anyone else have a favorite idea? I attached a picture of the wooden fans I found. Let me know if you guys like them and I can go back and get them and/or the paper ones.

  1. Thanks for looking into fans!

I know of the wood kind. We can purchase at world market, not sure of prices. Do these ones have the hanging string from handle? Might be nice to have for extra color and texture.

I say go ahead and purchase one or two fans to bring to next class meeting. We can incorporate even if we have to modify some how. We can discuss in more detail with objects in hand too.
    thx-
