supplies

Hi everyone, 

I went to home depot today and got some supplies. I got top soil, some small short all green plants and these bricks... I was thinking we could use the scalloped brick along a side of the table. And the smaller ones we can use just to add some height or create a design with and we could cover them with soil or moss or whatever. They were very inexpensive and I thought they could look really cool. I'm going to get some more plants on monday so they are as fresh as possible for class. 

--just wanted to add a note about the size of these bc they look smaller in the pictures.. the scalloped piece is 24 inches and the smaller triangles are I think like 5 - 6 inches... sorry I'm not home with them so I can't measure.. but just wanted to give a better idea of how big they are

also, I had tried contacting Larice today about doing the sheep with the paper but we never got in touch so if we are not using the sheep and putting jewelry on it to sell I can buy some product at work if you guys want, we have lots of books about going green and living green and all that.. and also some of the product that's in the inspiration photos Larice posted below .. anyway just let me know

THINKING GREEN

Hi Groupies-

This idea just came to me!! I have MAAADDDD paper in my paper shredder that I was about to recycle...what if we use this as material to cover lamb like this picture above. It corolates with the GREEN theme AND..if we get started on this ASAP. We can get it finished prior to class.

I think this could be accomplished by wrapping sheep with chicken wire first or something mesh like so we can adhesive or tie paper to body more easily. If we all have some shredded paper to contribute then we could use moss for another purpose like re-creating hills...

Maybe Alyssa you have shredded paper too and can get started and I can pick-up from you this weekend to finish up prior to Tuesday night.

Oh yeah, and the head can be paper mache and painted black or perhaps GREEN!

Green

I think we should settle on a solid idea pretty soon. If we are displaying jewelry, how about going for that "Secret Garden" theme... I would need help figuring out where the sheep would go, but I do like the idea of covering it with moss, I must say.

But here are some visual aids: 

This I thought was really pretty, and it doesnt have to be white. And it seems to be made of paper or newspaper?

This is the closest thing I found online to the can/pot idea...

And lastly, how about using some books to create high and dimension?

hi just thought that this might be a cute theme for candy... polka dots!

i also found this magazine page as inspiration. and i only have two of those small bowls actually, but maybe i can buy more if they're still available.

hi i looked for accessories yesterday and so far here's what i found, havent bought them yet coz im afraid that this wont work, and you can only return so much in one store.

green

Hi everyone, 

I'm going supply shopping tomorrow so I just wanted to confirm that we are using the sheep in  garden like scene for green... Sorry I was so tired on Tuesday I couldn't remember what we had agreed on.. if no one responds by the time I go shopping I'll just assume that's what we're doing and buy things based on that. Thanks guys! hope everyone's having a good week : )
